A blunt is a cigar that is slightly wider than a cigarillo, but not as wide as a corona. Blunt cigars consist of two parts, the inner leaf, which is made from tobacco and the outer part, which is rolled in a spiral around the inner leaf.

There are two common styles of blunt rolling, the Dutch style and the Philly style.

These slits break the smoke into smaller bubbles than the usual down stem, making it easy for the bubbles to scatter onto the surface and interact with the water to filter and cool the smoke effectively. This process results in a virtually silent bong.
