What is Golden Root?

Otherwise known as rhodiola rosea, Golden Root is a plant that grows in the cold regions of the world such as the Arctic, the mountains in central Asia, the Rocky Mountains and the United States, and various mountain ranges within Europe. It is used in a variety of countries around the world as a natural means of alleviating depression and improving moods.

There have been various studies around the world which show that golden root complex improves the physical and mental performance of individuals who consume it on a regular basis, and that it also reduces fatigue. Scientists have determined the reason for this is because the herb optimizes serotonin and dopamine levels through monoamine oxidase inhibition, although the neurochemical mechanics of how this works have not been scientifically documented in full yet.

Golden root complex is part of a group known to scientists as adaptogens, which are herbal supplements that differ from chemical stimulants such as nicotine. They do not have the adverse physiological effects of the stimulants, but still give the same mental benefits.

Golden root is most popular in Russia and Scandinavia where it has been used for centuries to help individuals living in extremely cold climates cope with the temperatures and stressful way of life. It has been tested in various laboratories, where golden root has been proven to prevent weight gain and stress-induced changes in appetite.

Golden root has also been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries under the name of hong jing tian. It is one of the major components in many legal high products.
