Building Your Own Bong

Depending on where you live, it may not be possible to purchase a bong at a local head shop, or even via an online store.  This is true in a number of countries, where there are somewhat strict rules about any type of devices that can be used along with illegal substances.  While you may have the idea to enjoy legal highs, the fact is you still may have to consider building your own bong.

Fortunately, there are a couple of ways to go about this process.  One simple approach is to obtain the components separately, then assemble them at home.  It’s relatively easy to buy a long metal or wooden tube for the slide, and a couple of bowls that can hold the dried herbs and the water.  If you need help in designing the bong, there are plenty of step by step instructions to be found at various online sources.  You may even be able to get some recommendations of where to order some parts rather than looking for them locally.

You may live in a country where sending a fully working bong through the post is illegal, but where the delivery of a bong kit is perfectly acceptable.  If that is the case, then you can go online and order this type of kit.  While sometimes hard to find, you can come up with easy to assemble kits that include everything you need.  Take some time to look at different models and choices of materials, and make sure to find out if there are any legal issues before you actually place the order.

Acrylic Bongs – a graet way to smoke!

Bongs are long smoking pipes that are specially designed for inhaling the natural fumes of herbs such as tobacco and cannabis. One popular type of bong is the acrylic bong, which is made from that transparent material. Compared to glass bongs, acrylic bongs have moderate properties and are relatively cheap and easier to handle. They are also very practical and long lasting.

There are several types of acrylic bongs. Acrylic straight bongs are tall, reaching even two feet in height, providing enough room for a large capacity of smoke. This allows the smoke ample time to cool down on its way up into your lungs.

Acrylic ice bongs are colourful devices that require the addition of ice cubes to the water pipe making the smoke cooler, cleaner and smoother. This provides a very soothing feeling for the lungs as the ice-cooled air is inhaled.

Acrylic bubble bongs, on the other hand, maximize the amount of water to be used in filtering and making the smoke smooth.

Acrylic multi-chambered bongs are brightly coloured with two chambers that make the smoke cooler and extra smooth as it travels from the bowl into the lungs. They are usually provided with a thick rubber base and two tubes connect the shafts to each other.

Another type is the gravity bong. Acrylic gravity bongs are not only water-powered but are also completely portable smoking systems. This type of bongs harnesses the power of gravity to displace water from one chamber into the other. As a result, a thick cloud of smoke is produced from any herbal high.

Durability of Acrylic Bongs

The use of a water pipe, more commonly known as a bong, for smoking is safer and less harmful to the health, according to some studies.

Most smokers who have tried and tested bongs have attested to the extra sensation these devices provide. Bongs, in particular, were designed to give a smoother smoke than regular pipes and they also reduce health risks associated with the smoking of cigarettes and other substances.

The main purpose of a bong is to transmit smoke through water or other fluids to cool and filter the burned substance before it penetrates the user’s mouth, lungs and stomach. Although the use of a bong may reduce some of the harmful effects, smoking with a bong is still dangerous.

Bongs are made of different materials and have different forms, shapes and sizes. Glass bongs, red-eye bongs, and stealth bongs are a few of the many types. However, acrylic bongs are some of the most commonly used and most popular.

Acrylic bongs, compared to glass bongs, are more practical to use since they are more durable and do not break easily. They are also easier to clean and their dynamic shapes and designs are usually more interesting than those found with glass bongs.

Acrylic bongs are also more economical, with prices ranging from £30, and they are also easier to transport because of their durability.

Acrylic Bongs are also available in different types. They vary from multi-chambered bongs to Bubble Bongs, Ice Bongs and Gravity Bongs.

Bongs 101

Bongs or water pipes are smoking devices that are often associated with marijuana. However, they can also be used to smoke other legal substances such as tobacco and plants that belong to the genus Cannabis. They serve as filters for the substances smoked.

Bongs can be acquired in places where plants from the Cannabis genus are legal. They can be bought in head shops that specialise in the paraphernalia used for recreational drugs. There are also Smart Shops, which are prominently found in the Netherlands, which sell various bongs. Some websites also offer bongs that can be purchased online by credit card. Shipment of the products depends on the location of the website owner and the customer.

Whether people buy bongs from head shops or order them from websites, they can expect to find a variety of types. Materials, size and colour differentiate one bong from another.

One of the most popular models is the mini bong. These are only about five inches tall and don’t hold too much water. However, some people purchase mini bongs, because even if it is small, a huge amount of smoke can be inhaled in a short period of time, especially when they use a big bowl to hold the substance being used.

Another well-known type of bong is the big bong, which is approximately 53cm tall. Some prefer these because the smoke produced is cooler compared to that produced by the mini bongs. The smoke is cooler because the bong is very tall and so has further to travel before being inhaled.

Multi-Pipe Bongs: Art Forms with Hazards

Multi-pipe bongs are starting to gain popularity among fanatics of legal highs. Even though the authorities are continuously sending warnings to the public about the potential hazards of these substances, very few actually heed them. College students and teenagers in general have taken to smoking various tobacco-like products that include dried lettuce, herbs and many other substances that have the same texture and consistency as tobacco. This is where multi-pipe bongs become the smoker’s best friend.

A bong is an apparatus used for smoking. It consists of a long, upright, hollow cylinder that has one end sealed by a supported base, while the other end has an opening to allow a smoker to cover it with his or her mouth. Multi-pipe bongs have channels of pipes inside to help filter out more of the impurities from the smoke, as well as provide an artistic design to the simple bong architecture. The device has a combustion chamber, with an inlet where the substance is placed and an outlet that allows smoke to seep out.

Multi-pipe bongs are usually made out of plain glass, but other materials, including acrylic, metal, ceramics and even wood have also been used to enclose the multi-pipe designs.

Veteran smokers are aware that multi-pipe bongs are safer than using cigars or cigarettes. Indeed, the incidence of lung cancer in the users of such filters is lower than that of normal tobacco users. There are times when a person who uses multi-pipe bongs frequently develops cancer of the lips, which makes this method of filtering smoke undesirable.

Bongs – are they less damaging than standard smoking?

Smoking is a difficult habit to break due to the addictive effect of the substance being inhaled. There are several methods of smoking and one of the less damaging methods is the bong.

Commonly known as a water pipe, a bong is a device which is used to smoke substances such as tobacco or cannabis. A bong may be created from any water-and air-tight vessel by adding a stem apparatus and a bowl. The term ‘bong’ comes from ‘baung’, a Thai word which pertains to a pipe, container, or tube cut from bamboo that is also used for smoking. For centuries, the bong has been used by the people from Thailand and Laos.

In using a bong, water is placed in its base and the substance to be inhaled is placed in the cone piece and is ignited with a match or a lighter. The smoker’s lips are placed on the mouthpiece, which creates a seal and causes the flame to be drawn to the substance when inhaling. Then, smoke is produced and travels by a hollow pipe that is attached to the bottom of the bowl. Through an airtight stem, the pipe goes into a vessel that contains water and, through the water, the smoke rises. Particulates from the smoke are cooled and filtered then, above the water; the smoke is trapped in the air.

The bong is used because of the cooling effect of water, which decreases the chance of burning the airways, mouth, and lungs. Some water-soluble molecules and heavier particles are trapped and prevented by the water from entering the smoker’s airways. This makes the bong different from other smoking methods. Some people also use acrylic bongs for smoking, as you can get them with ice chambers in which gives a really cool smoke.
