The Carb – Beginner’s techniques to smoking a bong
A bong is a tool commonly used for smoking tobacco, herbal blends or other substances. It is commonly known as a water pipe and can be formed from any air-and water-tight container by adding a bowl and stem apparatus. If someone is planning to buy this, use the appropriate terminology, such as water pipes or incense burners, for clarity.
For beginning smokers, it is better to use a bong. Consider also that it is better to have a ‘carb’, or carburettor, a part of a bong that allows air to mix with smoke and to permit or prevent outside air pressure into the chamber of the bong. It is used while the smoke is simultaneously pushed into the lungs. On other bongs, like glass bongs, a carb’s function is done by releasing the bowl, which is usually attached to the stem, to see the opening to the chamber. A hole is usually drilled into the chamber of the bong itself, as with acrylic bongs. Listed below are the steps in order to know the correct way to use a carb
First, fill up the chamber with as much smoke as you can inhale. Second, take a breath. Hold the breath before taking a ‘hit’ to make sure the carb remains covered. Finally, take the hit. Suck the smoke into the lungs in one smooth hit and let go of the carb. If the load was not able to be finished in one hit, be sure to clear out the chamber of ‘stale’ smoke before passing the bong.
