Tricks in Making Homemade Herb Grinders

You should definitely try to find the best possible deal when purchasing a weed grinder, but beware, while you may choose to buy the cheapest grinder of all time, don’t make the mistake of buying poor quality. These products may be inexpensive, but often they are not worth considering. Stay away from buying plastic, wooden and imitation metal grinder, because you don’t want to waste your hard earned money, as they tend to break after the first use. More to the point, most cheaply-made grinders either don’t have “kief: catchers or have low-quality kief screens. Pay a little extra for a good quality machine; you won’t regret it and it will last you much longer than the cheaper models.

If you don’t feel like buying a herb grinder, try making one. There is no homemade substitute for weed grinders, but there are a couple of creative tricks that can help you. Why not give the following simple techniques a try?

Use a pair of scissors and a shot glass. It might be a little harder to achieve the optimum density than using an average four-piece weed grinder, but with a little patience you can obtain acceptable results. This method is easier than doing it with your bare hands, but be careful not to spill the bits everywhere.

Use an electric coffee grinder. This method does a better job on the dense buds than the scissors. You just have to be extra careful not to overdo it, because it’s far too easy to turn your buds into dust.

Purchase a real weed grinder; there’s nothing better if you want to avoid spilling or over-grinding. Also, most grinders usually have a kief catcher, which will collect the highly potent pollen crystals that fall off during the processing.

Vaporising – an alternative to smoking

Have you or any of your loved ones ever experienced chest congestion? If so, what do you do? Generally, you would use a vaporiser to lessen the difficulty of breathing, but how effective are they in treating illnesses and are they an effective alternative to smoking cigarettes and cigars

In the medical field, a vaporiser is defined as a device used to extract the ingredients of herbs and plants for the patient to inhale. Vaporisation is frequently used in the treatment of patients with sicknesses and lung problems.

There are also people who simply want to inhale tobacco or herbs using a vaporiser and who are prepared to purchase the best products on the market to experience the perfect smoke. Unlike the smoke produced by burning the herb itself, which may contain some carcinogenic substances, the vapour produced by a vaporiser has virtually no particulate matter or tar. The process does not involve combustion, so no smoke is emitted at all.

In addition, vaporisation offers more direct results compared to other drug-delivery methods. The dosage is controlled and not likely to be exceeded, which goes a long way to preventing overdoses. Since the materials used generally herbs and plants known for their medicinal use, such as tobacco, aloe vera, eucalyptus and ginkgo biloba, patients tend to achieve the desired result in a relatively harmless manner.

There are several factors to consider, in order to ensure the correct use of a vaporiser. The correct temperature must be set on the device and the quantity of plant matter, leaves or seeds to be used must be carefully measured. Any variation will directly affect the quality of vapour being produced, so proper settings and procedures must be observed.

Lighters – the most important smoking accessory!

Cigarette lighters now come in many different shapes and sizes. There are plastic lighters, which are very cheap, reliable and easy to use. There are various colours and designs available for you to choose from. Men with a liking for scantily clad women can even purchase a lighter with an image of a half-naked woman pasted on the side.

For those who want a very durable and reliable lighter, the Zippo is a definite must-have. The Zippo is a stainless-steel lighter that has been in existence even before World War I. Soldiers back then used lighters to find their way through the trenches in the dark. The Zippo is not only a durable lighter, but it also implies that the user is very knowledgeable about smoking herbs and possession defines status amongst a like-minded social group. This lighter has been used as a prop in several movies; especially back in the days of Bogart and Gable, which signify its sense of style.

There are also lighters that have weird and funny designs. One such product was a lighter designed to look like a little naked boy, and when the person using it flicks the lighter the flame would come out of the little boy’s penis.  There have been hundreds of different designs for sale over the years.

All in all, lighters are very useful tools for those who want to smoke legal highs or just plain cigarettes. It doesn’t matter if you have a gold-plated Zippo or a cheap plastic lighter, the important thing is to have one.

Various ways to smoke herbal highs

It doesn’t matter if you’ve smoked herbs for many years or just a couple of months; you can always change your mode or style of smoking. This can be to experiment with new techniques or simply to find a new style that more correctly suits your needs. Today, a great range of options and accessories are available to herbal smokers. Simply access any herbal highs store to discover them.

Pre-rolled herbal cigarettes are easily accessible and readily available. They can be purchased in many online stores and there is a wide variety of strengths and types to choose from. Alternatively, for a cheaper option, you can purchase the herbs and roll your own cigarettes. Rolling accessories can be obtained from most online sites where herbal-smoking products are sold.

A nice gift for a smoker who rolls his or own cigarettes is the wooden, varnished rolling trays where all that is needed for rolling can be packed and stored to be carried. Smaller appliances like rolling machines that are more portable and compact are also available in a range of sizes, shapes and colours, and with some practice you can roll the perfect cigarette each time.

Of course, as a smoker you will need a good cigarette lighter. Lighters were initially developed in the early 1800s. They were first mass-produced during World War I. Later, during World War II, the Zippo lighter gained popularity among US soldiers as a very reliable and stable lighter.

Bongs – are they less damaging than standard smoking?

Smoking is a difficult habit to break due to the addictive effect of the substance being inhaled. There are several methods of smoking and one of the less damaging methods is the bong.

Commonly known as a water pipe, a bong is a device which is used to smoke substances such as tobacco or cannabis. A bong may be created from any water-and air-tight vessel by adding a stem apparatus and a bowl. The term ‘bong’ comes from ‘baung’, a Thai word which pertains to a pipe, container, or tube cut from bamboo that is also used for smoking. For centuries, the bong has been used by the people from Thailand and Laos.

In using a bong, water is placed in its base and the substance to be inhaled is placed in the cone piece and is ignited with a match or a lighter. The smoker’s lips are placed on the mouthpiece, which creates a seal and causes the flame to be drawn to the substance when inhaling. Then, smoke is produced and travels by a hollow pipe that is attached to the bottom of the bowl. Through an airtight stem, the pipe goes into a vessel that contains water and, through the water, the smoke rises. Particulates from the smoke are cooled and filtered then, above the water; the smoke is trapped in the air.

The bong is used because of the cooling effect of water, which decreases the chance of burning the airways, mouth, and lungs. Some water-soluble molecules and heavier particles are trapped and prevented by the water from entering the smoker’s airways. This makes the bong different from other smoking methods. Some people also use acrylic bongs for smoking, as you can get them with ice chambers in which gives a really cool smoke.

Different ways of smoking legal herbal highs

Whether you are new to smoking, or are an experienced smoker considering changing your smoking style, there are many options and accessories from which to choose.

For example, herbal cigarette smokers can purchase ready-rolled cigarettes or they can purchase the tools to roll their cigarettes themselves. There are many rolling accessories available to help you roll the perfect herbal cigarette every time. For those wanting to spend a bit more time and money, varnished, wooden rolling trays are available. Likewise, there are smaller rolling machines that can fit into your pocket; cone rollers, filters, rolling mats and pouches, and storage boxes for your pre-rolled cigarettes. Rolling accessories are abundant.

You will also need a lighter. Cheap disposable lighters are available at every corner store and supermarket. These are lightweight and made from plastic. Alternatively, advanced smokers may want to invest in a long-term refillable lighter like a Zippo lighter.

For those interested in using bongs, there are a plethora of options from which to choose. Bongs, also called water pipes, have existed for centuries all around the world. They come in a variety of shapes, depending on the region where they originated. For example, in the Middle East the Hookah pipe is popular. This is used to smoke legal herbs both privately or in open social situations. Alternatively, water bongs and glass bongs are popular throughout the West and are used for smoking herbs in order to obtain a legal high.

Water Bongs – a healthier way to smoke!

A water bong is a pipe that filters the smoke inhaled from tobacco or herbs through a reservoir usually containing water, or sometimes a liqueur. Bongs come in different colours, shapes, and are believed to be one of the smoothest, cleanest, and healthiest ways of smoking.

The water bong may be filled with cold water alone or also with ice, as this helps to cool the smoke so that more of it can be inhaled. As the smoking session proceeds, the smoker should take care not to let the water level approach the air intake hole of the water bong, as it may spill out when the device is being moved or passed.

To inhale from the lit bong, the mouth of the smoker should be placed directly over the mouthpiece, forming a seal with the lips. Simultaneously, a flame is held to a small portion of tobacco or herbal mixture in the bowl of the pipe. A bubbling sound will be produced from the water as the air is drawn through the device, igniting the material in the bowl. While inhaling, the smoker can take a comfortable seat while resting the device on any surface. The smoker should avoid coughing as much as possible when there is still smoke inside the lungs so as to avoid feeling a burning sensation. Coughing back into the bong should be avoided, since this may damage the system.

Smoking with a water bong may be regarded as a healthy practice, provided it is used properly and cleaned every after every session.

Matches or lighters, which is best?

When smoking cigarettes, which does one prefer to use, a match or a lighter? What are their differences? According to the Roll-It-Up site, 82.86% of smokers use lighters while 5.71% use matches and 11.43% use other means to light a cigarette.

Some use lighters because it’s easier and more convenient, while others use matches because they are primarily made of paper, which is a renewable material.

Matches are typically wooden sticks coated at one end with a material called phosphorus that will ignite if rubbed against a suitable surface. It is considered the most eco-friendly option amongst other devices in fire-lighting. It is also in the top 36 of 50 ways to help the planet, because the cardboard boxes can be made of recycled paper. There are two types of matches: the safety match, which can be lit only if rubbed against a prepared surface; and the strike-anywhere match, which can be used on any solid surface; however, it is dangerous because it can catch fire anywhere.

In contrast, a lighter comprises of a plastic or metal container filled with lighter fluid. It specifies the height of the maximum flame and its resistance to high temperatures and water. There are different kinds of lighters: Zippos, which use ordinary lighter fluid; the torch type, which uses butane lighter fluid with a much clearer flame; and the normal lighter, which also uses butane lighter fluid, but is easily damaged.

What do you think it is safest to use, a lighter or a match? The answer is a matter of personal preference, but always remember that these two devices should be keep out of the reach of children.
